Critical games coming up

Celtic Quick News posted an interesting message about the team's current form. I guess the criticism of the pessimistic fans includes me. But I think CQN is too quick to claim that we've turned a corner. Better to judge that in 10 days time, after we have played Aberdeen (tomorrow), Hearts (next Saturday) and Spartak (following Wednesday). Three victories and the pessimists were wrong; three defeats and they were right; anything in-between and there is some truth on both sides.

Facebook

I joined Facebook earlier this year because my university course required it. It's an online course and Facebook was meant to socialise the students. It didn't really work. And I didn't really like Facebook. It appeared to be a bit pointless and a little narcissistic. But things improved when I excluded people from the course and added people who I actually knew and cared about. I now use it to keep in touch with a wide range of people (including family, friends, workmates and ex-workmates).

My public page is here so add me as a friend if you want to use it to keep in touch. You might also want to join the Facebook Celtic Supporters Club and install the iLike (for music), Flixter Movies (for movies) and Premier League Picks applications.

Keeping up with Celtic has Smith craving moonbeams and miracles

Interesting article in today's Guardian blog (see link above).

I'm not sure I agree. I've been watching Celtic steadily decline since last March and I'm not convinced that the poor form was simply a case of Celtic cruising to the title. If it was, I'm not convinced that they can simply take their foot off the break and step up a gear come Sunday. Right now, we have a shaky defence and a mis-firing forward line.

We have a whole bunch of "quality" (and highly paid) players simply not performing. Some never have (Virgo, Jarosik), some are hot and cold (Gravesen, Hesselink) and some are simply picking up their pay cheques (Balde, Zurawski). The best player in pre-season has been McGeady, and Brown stood out like a sore thumb on Sunday supposedly surrounded by "top quality" international players.

The signs are not good.
