Make Poverty History

I went through to Edinburgh on Saturday to join the Make Poverty History march. The weather was fantastic and it was a great day.

I got home in time to see the last bit of Live8 from London. The Pink Floyd set [MOV] was great.

  1. We went along as well. It was a bit of an experience for the children. We actually didn't get on the march till after 3 o'clock and the waiting in the queue for a couple of hours was a bit awful. When we started to go round I was for pushing on at my own speed as so I was all for going on the pavement. Eleanor seemed happy with this as after about 5 minutes walking she was asking when it would be over. Unfortunately Catherine didn't like this approach and was falling out with me if we didn't go on the road where she could wave her banner about.

A couple of people from the work was there. One gave up on the march and stayed in the Meadows. Another went out a side road and joined the march just after 1 o'clock then took another 5 hours to finish the route by enjoying a number of pubs. It was a good day and some great sights when you looked back on the crowds.
