This blog was conceived after the Scottish Cup Final of 2004 when Celtic played Dunfermline. The idea was discussed in The Last Post pub in Paisley late at night as a means of allowing us to share news, opinions and post links of mutual interest. The date of the Final was 22 May.
We went along as well. It was a bit of an experience for the children. We actually didn't get on the march till after 3 o'clock and the waiting in the queue for a couple of hours was a bit awful. When we started to go round I was for pushing on at my own speed as so I was all for going on the pavement. Eleanor seemed happy with this as after about 5 minutes walking she was asking when it would be over. Unfortunately Catherine didn't like this approach and was falling out with me if we didn't go on the road where she could wave her banner about.
A couple of people from the work was there. One gave up on the march and stayed in the Meadows. Another went out a side road and joined the march just after 1 o'clock then took another 5 hours to finish the route by enjoying a number of pubs. It was a good day and some great sights when you looked back on the crowds.
