Celtic 1-0 Man Utd

Great result last night - if not a great performance. We deserved some luck after the bad luck we've had in recent years.

Wee Gordon's worked wonders with a limited squad. And it looks like the biscuit tin will be opened. My son (John) is going to Copenhagen next month to celebrate.

  1. Brilliant result. But yes we definitely had luck. Our performance in the first half was dire. Nakamura at free kicks must be in the top ten that have ever been. Some Brazilian genes in there.

If Celtic are to improve then we need better players. We certainly have enough for Scotland but not enough for Europe. I suppose the idea must be to increase our revenue (either always into the latter stages of Champions league or money from sponsorship - Beckham??) to be able to increase the wage bill. But it is a bit chicken and egg.

Although Celtic still may be attractive to very good players who are the wrong side of thirty. Although in saying that I am glad we didn't get Hasselbaink. We need to offload some players probably Thompson and Pearson also can we have Riordan as well as Naka, Maloney and McGeady.

A very good centre back would help. (We have lost six goals in two away matches). As would another striker. I think 4 is about right but Beattie is too injury prone to rely on.

I hope John enjoys Copenhagen. Will it be the first away win? Just one thought. I'm not as keen on Sno as most people seem to be. Is he slow or is that deceptive? For a replacement for Lennon I would prefer someone with pace.

  2. In spite of his performance this afternoon, I don't like Sno either. I agree that we still lack quality - but wee Gordon seems to be a top coach who can coax the best out of average players. It looks like we'll strengthen in January which will improve things. But I would have bitten your hand off for the position we're in right now.
