This blog was conceived after the Scottish Cup Final of 2004 when Celtic played Dunfermline. The idea was discussed in The Last Post pub in Paisley late at night as a means of allowing us to share news, opinions and post links of mutual interest. The date of the Final was 22 May.
It looks good from that trailer. I found myself saying "you were told not to eat it". Why do they always do that.
Recently I watched Children of men and Little Miss Sunshine. I thought the first one was average but the second one was excellent.
I've also read a couple of books. One by Christopher Bookmyre A tale etched in blood and hard black pencil. I was laughing out loud at its description of primary school but it peters out in the later parts. I also read Kazuo Ishiguro's The remains of the day. I had this in the house for years but never fancied reading it. But I was wrong it is a brilliant book. At the moment I'm reading a Dennis Potter's A ticket to ride. Quite a strange novel where a man seems to be losing his mind. Its not bad.
Celtic seem to be crawling over the line. Apparently didn't play well again but at least its 3 points. Unfortunately St Johnstone seem to be playng well.
Also Spiral is on BBC 4 this week. I think they have 4 episodes on. I would recommend this if you like crime dramas. It has a very intersesting main plot with each episode also dealing with a new crime. It all gets intewoven really well. Its got bent police, bent lawyers, betrayal, political corruption, strained friendships, unhappy marriages and an extremely good looking main police woman.
Agree with your summaries of Children of Men and Little Miss Sunshine.
I'll look for Spiral. I can recommend The Opposite of Sex which is on Film 4 on Tuesday night.
I missed yesterday's game against Motherwell but it sounded like another poor performance. Thank God we built up a huge lead before this slump in form.
Best think on TV is "The Wire". Its made by HBO and its a police drama set in Baltimore.
I never watched it on TV but bought the DVD box sets of Series 1, 2 and 3. Should be watched in that order. I think its better than "The Sopranos".
Shane Meadows (my favourite director) new film "This is England", opens on April 27th. It's about skinheads and set in 1980's. Got great reviews when shown on the festival circuit.
Don't know if you caught Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind last night on C4 but it gets better each time I watch it. One of my top 10 movies (and #40 on the IMDB list).

I did go to see Sunshine and was pretty disappointed in it.
