The failure, the denier and the hopeless fools of the SFA

  1. I don't like the appointment as I don't like Smith. A bigot who wears a very thin veneer of impartiality. I remember when Keane played his first game at Celtic Park. The fans had unfurled a huge Irish flag with a picture of Keane. This impressed the commentator. Smith was co-commentating and was asked for his thoughts. I don't remember them with the Japanese flag for Nakamura he replied. Celtic's Japanese roots have slipped my mind.

He may well not have the qualifications or experience for the job but when has that mattered?

  2. I'm not sure if it is my imagination but I used to think Smith was fair and impartial. For the past few years his anti-Celtic stance has become stronger and more pronounced. I'm not sure if this is because he feels that he is now in a position of strength and can say what he has always believed or that something has happened to make him change. It might be a mixture of both. A guess on my part is that he has had some bad dealings with the Celtic board over players and uses his media role to get his own back.

Smith is a strong advocate of Summer football in Scotland and believes that we should be playing through May and June and into July, with a break through January and February. My view is that crowds would fall if this came in. There are too many other things to do in our short Summer. It will be interesting to see if he tries to introduce this.

On a more sinister note I think Celtic will need to be very wary of him. His anti-Celtic stance could be dangerous.
