I picked up this album last week. Some truly wonderful songs. Shine on you crazy diamonds, Time, Us and them - even Wish you were here. But some of their stuff is truly awful. Especially their early material. How could the same people who wrote Great gig on the sky also write Bike?
I am not sure about Best of.. albums. They sometimes cover the career rather than giving the best material. But it is a bit surprising that you found that some tracks were rubbish. I wonder if it is better to go for back catalogues especially at the prices they sell for. I heard on the radio that the back catalogue of Be-Bop Deluxe is to be released shortly. I think it is five albums. I did like the Amazon site and the fact that you could sample the albums (could have done with them being a bit longer though).
