This blog was conceived after the Scottish Cup Final of 2004 when Celtic played Dunfermline. The idea was discussed in The Last Post pub in Paisley late at night as a means of allowing us to share news, opinions and post links of mutual interest. The date of the Final was 22 May.

New Pope
Given the level of hypocrisy about the death of the previous pope I think that this article may give some balance to thinking on the beneficial effects of religion in a secular society.
The election on this new Pope is another example of the huge shift to the right that we've undergone in the last 25 years. Gore Vidal described it as "sleep-walking into fascism".
The Pope was a great man. It is the lack of any real religion in society that has brought about the world that we deserve.
